Authentic Culinary Experience

Yamanashi Specialty: Hoto Noodles

やまなし名物「ほうとう」

The ultimate comfort food of the Mt. Fuji region.
"Hoto" is the most iconic regional dish of Yamanashi Prefecture. Unlike standard udon, it features flat, rustic noodles simmered for a long time with sweet pumpkin, mushrooms, and seasonal mountain vegetables in a rich, savory miso-based broth.

Historically known as the favorite soul food of the famous samurai warlord Takeda Shingen, the pumpkin melts into the broth to create a natural, sweet depth of flavor. It's the perfect, heartwarming meal to savor while exploring the Mt. Fuji area!

Destinations & Highlights

Oshino Hakkai (Eight Sacred Springs)

おしのはっかい

Designated as a Japanese Natural Monument, these eight crystal-clear spring pools are fed by melting snow from Mt. Fuji that has been filtered through porous lava for 80 years. The traditional thatched-roof village perfectly frames the majestic mountain in the background.

💡 Local Tip: Don't miss the freshly made "Kusa Mochi" (mugwort rice cake) and salt-grilled Ayu fish made with Mt. Fuji's pure spring water!

Oishi Park

おおいしこうえん

A premier flower viewing spot on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. Stroll along the 350-meter promenade offering seasonal spectacles: pink Shibazakura in spring, purple lavender in summer, and fiery red Kochia bushes in autumn—all with Mt. Fuji as a breathtaking backdrop.

Lake Kawaguchi

かわぐちこ

The most accessible and activity-rich of the Fuji Five Lakes. On clear days, you might catch the legendary "Upside-down Fuji" reflected on the water's surface. Here, you will enjoy your hot, delicious Hoto Noodle lunch while taking in the stunning lakeside scenery.

Viral Kawaguchiko Convenience Store

河口湖の映えスポットのコンビニ

The ultimate Instagram phenomenon! With the massive silhouette of Mt. Fuji looming directly behind the shop's roof, it creates a surreal, cyberpunk-meets-nature aesthetic. We schedule a specific photo stop here so you can capture this iconic shot yourself.

Arakurayama Sengen Park (Chureito Pagoda)

あらくらやませんげんこうえん

Voted the #1 Mt. Fuji attraction by international tourists! After climbing 397 steps, you'll be rewarded with Japan's most famous postcard view: the majestic Mt. Fuji perfectly aligned behind the five-story Chureito Pagoda.

💡 Guide's Tip: Head straight up to the observation deck upon arrival to ensure you have plenty of time for photos before making your way down slowly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join if I'm traveling alone?

Yes, absolutely! This tour has a Guaranteed Departure for 1 person. Solo travelers are highly welcome to join.

Are the Hoto Noodles vegetarian/vegan friendly?

The traditional broth for Hoto Noodles contains fish stock (dashi) and miso, so it is not strictly vegetarian or vegan. If you have strict dietary requirements, we highly recommend booking our "No-Lunch Plan" instead, allowing you to choose your own suitable food near Kawaguchiko Craft Park.

Will I definitely see Mt. Fuji if the weather is bad?

Mt. Fuji is a natural phenomenon, and visibility heavily depends on weather conditions. Even on cloudy days, the attractions remain beautiful. The tour departs regardless of rain, and we cannot issue refunds solely due to poor Mt. Fuji visibility.
